Balloons

Two finished drawings form the pre-painting stage. Had the notion to illustrate balloons in various guises and here we are. The girl pic might get turned into a painting at a later stage but the dog one is certainly next on my list.

Progress

Some of the character sketches I've been working on for my new children's book portfolio. The girl on the balloon picture is driving me nuts - it seemed like such a simple drawing to do but as you can see from the bottom picture it's been through the mill. I'm not sure whether to leave it as a sketch or try working it up in colour. The wizard is...well, I like the head a lot but in my mind it was a lot less cliche. I'll show it when it's been through the blender and comes out the other end. As it stands I've only got one image I'm willing to use in my new folio so I've still got some work to do...
